ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Throttle plate getting stuck?

    Throttle plate getting stuck?

I think my throttle plate might be getting stuck. For instance, I'll speed up and if I have to come to a stop...you can still hear my intake sucking in air(I'm guessing that the TP is still open). Sometimes my car has trouble speeding up to the 35 mph range but after that, the car accelerates just fine. At first I thought it was the TPS but other reading leads me to think its the throttle plate or maybe the throttle cable. I have throttle body cleaner which I'm going to use tomorrow but if that doesn't work, where is the screw that can be adjusted so the throttle plate wont stick?

Sorry for all of the petty questions lately but I'm really worried about my cb7

    1) Check your throttle cable adjustment, is it too tight? When throttle plate closed, it should make contact with the stop.

    2) Clean throttle plate with throttle body cleaner around where the plate sits in closed position. Also clean around plate itself. It carbons up over time and can stick.

    3) Has physical stop on throttle body been moved to not allow full closure?

I gave the throttle body a good cleaning today and I don't think that's the problem anymore. I went and got a new pcv valve and the hose. Since I put that on, things have been a little better but I still haven't solved much. But when my intake won't stop sucking in air when I come to a stop, I'll put it in park and the rpms will go up to about 2000 and then back to a normal idle. Help please?
