engine wont turn over

i recently put all new lower bearings in my motor. wen i tried to crank it the other day, my starter was just clicking. so, i got a new starter and the same thing is happening. i can barely turn the motor over by hand. whats going on?

first question, why did you do lower OR crank bearings ?

second question did you measure the crank and rods and journals to determine what size bearings you needed?

third question while assembling the engine did you turn it over to make sure that it spun freely?

if no to these questions, you may have to start over again

i spun a bearing so i needed new bearings. yes i measured and yes i turned it over while installing and it spun like it should. The battery is brand new

try the old check all the grounds trick, its a possibility

i forgot to mention this, but when i connected my battery, i connected negative to positive by accident and the only thing that i could SEE that went bad was my battery relay. could i have fried something else?

did you properly torque the bottom end? being barely able to turn the motor over by hand could be indicative of other problems.

torqued the cap nuts to what it said in my hanes manual, as well as all the other bolts in the bottom end.

Unplug the small spade wire off the starter (ignition wire) and jump that terminal on the starter straight to POS on your battery. That will bypass everything between the ignition and the starter. Car should turn over and possibly start when you do this. Someone will need to be holding the clutch in and the ignition will need to be in the RUN position (II) in order for the engine to fire and run. And to be clear, when the car starts (assuming it does), remove the jumper wire from batt POS lol

stupid question, but how do i check the main relay. will it be like a fuse and ill be able to visually see its bad, or will i have to bust out the voltmeter??

main relay wont stop it from turning over. you messed it up when you crossed the cables. test the starter and battery first then come back.

well, i tested the battery yesterday. it was fine. im goin down later to test my starter. hopefully thats what it is.
