ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

the best way to check this is to get a timing light put it on number one cylinder witch is the closet to the driver on a usmd car lol. the check the timing marks on ur flywheel it sould be in the middle line. if you cant see and marks it may be because ur way off. also make sure ur firing order is right from ur dizzy to ur plugs. let me know if any off this help.. jus look over ur ignition system for faults

Tippey figured his out. I pulled the motor and took it to the shop. They did the time but because I got new belts and stuff. They said it wasn't off. After I got back in I was supposed to take to them. Well that didn't go to well at all.
Just a run down of the symptoms.
      1. Cold idle was out of spec- didn't rise like it was supposed to stayed around 450rpm
      2. Warm ide was spec- after fans came on she idled at 750rpm but would drop to 450 every 30 seconds.

what we did (me and the shop) swapped egr, icav, fitv (with new ones) adjusted idle screw, throttle cable, and used timing light to adjust the sparking timing.

The symptoms remained the same until the car started then stalled. Then it would stall at every light ans stop sign until it decided it didn't want to run any more. Seeing how it wouldn't start I figured the mechanical timing was way off. It was off but not so much that it would cause the car not to start.

New symptom- the car has power but its not trying to turn over. I got lights, windows, and all, except for the CEL and what ever indicators are next it. I noticed the ground wire over the started, its connected to a tranny bolt and the body began to smoke. I think it came in contact with the small wire on the starter.

I need to look at my wire harness again. And I'm going to try to pull it w/o taking everything apart. I hope this is the last thing I need to do. I need to move on to my body work and all.

Bro I love too get it to the shop and get the timing light on it. But it don't start anymore. I really don't to leave my car at the shop. Not that they can't fix it but because I don't have the money for it. I mean They're good helping with the what to do and sometimes how to do it but when it comes to them doing the work I get charged.

I'm going to pull my harness and disect it for damage section by section. I don't think I could be a mechanic this stuff is a headache, well when its your car anyway. So I'll have to admit that I'm stuck I can't do anything else after checking my harness. Did you know that the cheapest I've seen a new engine wire harness was $650.00. Thats not a used ebay one. Brand new from Majestic Honda.

Ok take an 10mm socket and an screwdriver unscrew you cap off put it to the side take the three bolts to your distibutor off and pull out you distibutor turn the to teeth on the back so there the other way theres only 2 teeth you can only put it on 180 out or dead on... put it back together and drive off

made a post recently on a rough 2k idle at all times, found my problem, it was a blown intake gasket, couldnt find it with carb cleaner because the chunk that was missing on the gasket was on the bottom part of it, we had to soak it in carb cleaner until it would leak all the way to the vaccum leak...was kind of a lucky shot to find it...

              hope it helps

Yeah and my intake manifold gasket was brand new. I guess new things can fail but mine is running better now so that was not my problem.

I'm glad your running good man. I hate to see CB go down. Mine is on the way to the shop I give up. I think the loud pop and ping I heared was bent vavle or shaft or something.

Ya know, I don't what I was thinking to be honest; thinking this thing would go smooth and I'd not have to worry about this type of stuff. I know for next time.

I think I got it. well figured out what it is. My head gasket started going bad. My motor ran hot, too bad the damn temp guage didn't say anything, I bent what ever it is that you bend when that type of stuff happens. I noticed my Coolant is dark almost black. My engine has oil leaking around the the head gasket on the tranny side and well of course it's not starting.

Still gotta take it to the shop to be sure.
