ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    high idle please help!

    hi,

2 weeks ago i swapped a h22a in my 92 accord, running on a chipped p28, i drove it around for a week or so, all was perfect
but last week after an highway ride, i realized my idle was at 2000rpm and stayed there. since then, it does that engine hot or cold doesnt matter..

i tried just about everything, checked for vacuum leaks, replaced the IAC by the one that was on my f22, i checked if the FITV screw was loose (it wasnt yet i screwed it in a bit more), i sprayed carb cleaner a bit everywhere to find vaccum leaks, i flushed and refilled my coolant fluid, i played with the idle screw, long story short ive been on this problem for 1 week, tryed everything and nothing fixes my problem

after doing all that and 1 week later problem is still there but after i drive it around a bit, my idle will go up and down a couple times before camping at 2000rpm again...but i checked the FITV so i dont think its related

now my last option is a bad TPS...is it possible a bad tps can cause ur idle to stay at 2k rpm??

i did lots of research, i did use the search button (on more then one forum trust me) and i found countless post with similar problems but none with a final solution and no one around me seems to be able to help me...tbh im desperate and about to give up, this is above my knowledge, please if u know the solution...help me!!!

There is a thread by HondaFan81 that tells you how to set your base idle properly. Search for it, and do what it says.

          Try this http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showpost...33&postcount=1

if you've done all that already, then there might be oil leaking into your spark plugs or change most of your fuses that helped mine

Another member had the same issue, upon inspection of the TB he discovered there was carbon build up on the valve and was keeping it open just a bit. And its possible the tps could be dirty, or damaged in the swap. There is a thread on here about how to test it and adjust it. And my gf's cd5 should do the same thing, but it was because there is a stop on the throttle cable that got caught in the piece of plastic that the cable ran thru, dunno if that same thing can happen on your swap, might be a cd5 specific cable deal.

according to hondafan81's thread, if i cannot adjust idle then i have a vaccum leak..ok...but i checked for everypossible vaccum leak i could think of

i plugged/unplugged every single hose, i pinched everysingle hose with pliers, i even sprayed carb cleaner everywhere to see if idle would react somehow, in fact, a vaccum leak is the first thing that came to my mind but i couldnt find any

I would check all the bolts that hold the IM to the head, my old idle issues arose because one of the lower bolts behind the thermo housing came loose....stupid gremlins

the problem was my intake manifold gasket, it was missing a 1'' chunk on it!!

we did not find it at first with the carb cleaner because the missing piece was on the bottom of the gasket, had to soak the intake manifold in carb cleaner until the stuff would leak down to the vaccum leak....

anyways, problem solved, car is running great and i just got my ass whooped on the track by a b20 lsd civic lol
