ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

How many thinks "click" underneath the dash? (no fuel condition)

I haven't got "my" CB7 yet but i think i might be going to pick it up tomorrow. Its not getting fuel and i don't hear a fuel pump kick on but it runs if i put a little gas in the intake tube. Doesn't stay running for long that way though I got under the dash and turned the key to see if the main relay was clicking and something is clicking... is there other relays under the dash? the car has A/C and cruise control too if it matters.

Any other hints to why its not getting fuel will be appreciated too. I checked the ECM(?) fuse too because i've read that can cause the fuel pump to not turn on.

Note- The title is supposed to say "things" not "thinks" but i don't know how to edit a title

Listen to hear if the fuel pump primes when you put the car into the "on" position. I don't know about the relays under the dash.

Either the pump is fucked or your main relay is fucked. OR you have a problem with your ignition circuit. Are all the other indicators coming on when you put the key in and to the ON position? the warnign indicator lights, oil pressure test light (for a couple seconds) et al?

I'll have to let others step in after this because I've never dealt with the fuel pump or main relay myself.

5 (virtual, imaginary) bucks on it being a bad main relay, though. Simple fix.

if i recall correctly all of the lights come on the display when the key is on. basically I'm thinking the same way you are... its either main relay (fingers crossed) or the damn fuel pump... I'm not intimidated with doing fuel pumps because i do them in Cummins trucks regularly anyway, but less work is always better IMO.

Yes, no doubt. And *interesting and engaging* work is even better that, lots of times. Good luck!

Any update on this? I have an older friend driving a 90lx that is having a very similar problem. He has replaced the fuel pump before but doesn't hear it priming anymore. He installed a new main relay and that doesn't help either.

check the relay when you can. look for any broken solder points or broken terminals.

but this sounds like it could just be the fuel pump.
