ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    external/internal dizzy wiring

i want to keep my external dizzy.

    parts i'm using:
    -91 LX Accord engine harness
-JDM H22A motor *with an external coil distrbutor

i've read a bunch of external coil conversions but i'm lost... it just tells me how to convert an internal dizzy to external. I HAVE an external dizzy but my wiring harness is for an internal. how would i wire it up correctly?

i have 2 spare prelude engine harnesses so i have the plugs that connect to the external coil. i would have to cut the plugs off the Lude harness but where and how would i run those wires?
    RIP '91 LX.

may take u on that offer dependin on the difficulty of the conversion.

      any other offers of help?

there's three wires on the plug. BLUE, BLK/YEL, & YEL. i'm certain that the black and yellow wires may needa tap into some type of power source. and the blue wire might needa be spliced to the ecu.

not sure, i have no knowledge about wiring but i've been doing well on the VTEC wiring for the H22a so far . any help would be appreciated.
      RIP '91 LX.

Take the h22 dizzy apart and pull out the guts then put the guts from an internal coil dizzy in. It should plug right in and work fine.

JDM distributors on the H22 are internal, as far as I know... so you must have a USDM distributor. Not that it matters, just pointing that out.

I wouldn't swap internals, as that can end up not working very well if you don't know what you're doing. There's a bit more involved than just slapping the guts of one into the case of another.

What you should do is this:
Follow a DIY showing you how to convert an internal coil distributor to external coil (uslspct made a very good thread about this in the DIY section.) Ignore all the bits about converting the actual distributor, because that's already done... it's already external. Just focus on what was done to the car's wiring, and follow that part.

OR, find someone with a JDM H22 distributor with the internal coil, and trade.

yeah i believe i have two usdm dizzys. the motor is jdm but i didn't realize til later when i was modifying my wiring harness that the dizzy on it was external coil (i never knew the differences bout them, still learning). and as far as the writeups i've read over they run their external coil wiring to some type MSD module. would i just substitute my external coil thingy (little black box mounted near the vtec solenoid) for the msd module?

If you're talking about the thread I referred to by uslspct... that MSD module is nothing but an ignition coil. Just a fancy one.

irony. as i was about convert the dizzy to internal, i took it apart and came to find out that the dizzy IS a jdm h22a and had been converted to an external usdm.. so i just put the wires the way they were supposed to be. and installed the f22a1 coil. now i'm about to go buy a b16a cap. (unless i can use a f22a1 cap?).... otherwise problem solved.

EDIT: maybe i'm jumpin the gun....

                f22a1 internal coil=f22a1 cap?

                h22a internal=b16a cap?

You can use the F22A1 internal cap (F22A1 is external for 92-93... just to avoid confusion.)
