ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    oil leak

hey everyone 93 f22a6 im not sure if my oil pressure sensor is leaking. i degreased my engine when i noticed that one of the transmission rubber lines was spraying my engine so i put real clamps on the two and that solved that leak now its kinda wet were the sensor is. is there a seal behind the distributer that could be leaking? ever since i degreased my engine all is clean and dry except under the distributer. thanks for the help.

There's a rubber o ring that goes on the distributor that is usually the cause of that.

sounds like a cheap part, ill look on my popular parts source Ebay. thanks bro its worth a shot

is it as easy as taking the distributer off and replace that seal or is there alot involved. i just looked at the seal on ebay and it looked a little thick. i expected to see a thin oring, but its only $8.73 shipped

oops looks like he edited it so never got to see it.

so remove distributer bolts, remove the distributer and there it is.

im assuming to take it out carefully and not let the shaft spin. im planing on taking off the cap first so i can see what position the rotor is and then work the distributer off slowly

There's also an internal seal on the distributor. After you change out the one around the shaft, if you notice there's still a leak, search for the other one. There's a DIY on it here.

Or do them both at once since they are cheap and you have to remove the dist for each procedure. Might as well remove it only once.

You partially disassemble the distributor but it's not hard and doing both will solve the leak.
