ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Ecu plate removal

I've been trying to remove the metal plate that holds the ecu and tcu from the floorboard but there is no clearance. Is there a certain way you are supposed to remove it...I don't wanna force anything because I'm worried about possibly damaging the wires, etc. I've tried to search around the site....maybe it's something simple I am missing?

Have you unbolted it yet if thats what you mean by clearance? But if so it usal helps to unplug the TCU fist then the ecu.

Yeah, i've unbolted it so far but as for unplugging the tcu it's the kind where you pinch the tabs in then pull?

I used a flat head to push in the tabs (I have fat fingers lol) but they just pulled right out. Then I folded over the whole board and unbolted everything from it giving you more working room to remove the ecu. hope it helps IDK...

No luck so far, the tabs are on the top of the wire harness right?

Just stick your fingers in there around the plug and feel where the tabs are at (I'm not sure if they are on the top or bottom, I just know they are near the center of the harness). Then do like dude said, use one hand and press the tab with something (a small flathead or whatever) and with the other hand pull the harness out. Its a bunch of bullshit, I've been thru it a couple of times but you'll be alright.

Yes it's definitely bullshit lol. I got so pissed I used a pair of vice grips to pull one out but I'm still working on the other. I had no idea this was gonna be so aggravating

It takes me 5 mins now because I just left the cover off. But when you go to a p12 it doesn't fit in the cover anyways lol.
