ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Hello Fam, I have a question when I exit my 91 accord lx, and my leg bumps the steering wheel it moves up is that normal? if not can u please tell me what would cause this to happen. What can I do to fix this problem. To honest I have never noticed this before, I dont think it has done this before now. A solution would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Push your adjustable steering column lever back up.

The steering wheel is adjustable... you may have it loosen which is why it hangs real low and when you bump it... it move up like you mention.

        steering wheel

hey guys thanks for the input, the steering is up and locked as tight as it can get. and it still moves, is there a bolt under the dash that can be tightened?

In a normal situation, when the lever is pushed down the steering column is then able to be adjusted up and down to wherever u want it. Once its at the desired level u then push the lever back up to lock it in place (I'm not telling u how to do it cuz I'm sure u already know how, I'm just talking it out). So how is it moving exactly? Is it moving up and down as if the adjustable lever is not doing its job? Like when u lock the lever up the steering column still moves up and down?

Also check that the actual steering wheel is bolted to the hub firmly (remove the center and you'll need a socket + ratchet + long extension).

              steering wheel

it's movimg up and down like it isnt locked in place, not enough to drop on my lap but if my leg pushes up on it when i get out of the car it moves up.

I would remove the plastic around the steering column and check the lever out. There may be a way to tighten it somehow. Regardless, when u remove the plastic it'll give u a better look at what is going on.

Ratchet +19mm socket + 6" extension. Remove nut and pull. Remember how the wheel is positioned so you can put it back on correctly. Lol.

What exactly will removing his steering wheel accomplish?

The problem is clearly with the adjustable steering column and not the steering wheel itself.

Off topic tip: The spare tire lug wrench is perfect for getting the steering wheel nut off.

                        steering wheel

Hey fam, I figured out what the problem was, there is a white plastic collar on the shaft that takes up the slack. It slid out of the bracked. once I slid it back into the collar and the slack is gone no more movement.
