ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    No.

Even if they did, there are MANY other factors that come into play with power production. Chances are, someone isn't going to bolt on an extreme cam like the 282 and have nothing else done... or have an untuned ECU.

Honestly, if you want that extreme, I wouldn't bother with Delta. Go with something a bit higher quality, such as Bisimoto. Especially since you won't want to run an extreme cam on stock valve springs.

i got a bisimoto 1.2 cam this is going in a turbo car i want to make power to 8000rpms the bisi cam makes power till 7k and falls fast. for 96$ each i am going to get a 272 and 282. i am going to dyno them and post up the gains if anybody has a stock cam to donate cause i only got one other cam.

Delta used to make a turbo grind think it was the 272-2.Now you do know the 282 will not make it's power until 5k+ an its a N/A app cam correct?Purpose of a turbo cam is to make power through out the power band to reduce lag an increase power as much as possible. You will see one hell of a dip in low/mid range an crap idle. You will need an entire valve train upgrade for that cam an to turn 8K you best have a built bottom end to boot.Best bet is to contact bisi to see what he can do for you as far as a custom grind.

An N/A grind will have far too much overlap for turbo. You'll be blowing your fresh air/fuel charge right out the exhaust valves.

i already turn the crap out of my engine 8k every day. my car made 365hp 300tq on 16psi just because i didnt have another 100$ to make more pulls. i have a fully built head. i shift at 7500 but with 400hp you hit the rev limiter very easy. also at the track i hold it in 3rd gear to 8000 so i dont have to shift.

So you're saying that because you rev to 8k RPM that you should get an N/A cam grind for your turbo motor?

So whats that have to do with an N/A profile cam in a boosted app?An your turning 8k an making 365whp on a stock block?Kinda pushing ain't ya?All that money in the head to risk piston to head contact once a rod lets lose which will happen sooner or later. But hey man once you get the 272 an 282 id be happy to by one or both from ya for my N/A build.

...and if this continues into a discussion about buying and selling in this section, you will both be banned.

                    What are you talking about?
The sarcastic coment about the N/A cam's hes wanting to buy?I put that in there to pull him away from such because it wouldn't be any better than what hes got already an would be a waste, not to actually buy them lol.Bad thing about the interwebz i guess ya can't tell what people are trying to get across half the time.My bad if you took it that way, but wasn't ment in that manor.

Right... which is why I didn't simply ban you... but if it turns into a legitimate request, then bans will be issued. The request for a donated cam is bad enough... and if this guy didn't clearly need to be educated in this thread, I may have banned him for that already.

Understandable no legitimacy intended on an item/s he hasn't/shouldn't even purchase anyway.I get where your coming from, atleast if i was actually trying to buy em, you would have warned me ahead of time.

Now back on topic waiting for OP's reply.

i been reving my car to 8k for 3 years now and a lot of miles. i have h22 rods and 4g63 stroker pistons. i am the guy that came up with that setup. here is my build http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=2546957

also my friend dbsharp has the 272 grind and his has a better power band than my bisi cam.

Your last 3 posts have been defending revving to 8k (and nobody is questioning that... we assume that you have internals and valvesprings to support it... if not, we simply assume you're an idiot...)

The point we are making is that using an N/A cam grind for a turbo setup is not a good idea. If you haven't already, do some research on the difference between N/A and turbo cam grinds... specifically, overlap.
With the N/A cam grind, especially a really wild one like the 282, you'll be blowing lots of unburned oxygen/fuel right out your exhaust valves. Not only is this going to be a waste of power-making air/fuel mixture... but you're also blowing that explosive mixture right into your EXTREMELY hot turbo. Revving to 8k will certainly produce quite a bit of heat... which means you're very likely to detonate in your turbo. That doesn't sound like a fun time to me...

Deev is right, I'm not the smartest guy out there but I believe big cams are for N/A applications. Nitrous and turbo builds will benefit from cams with smaller overlap, if you look at turbo cams they are all much lower than 282. But to each their own I guess.
