ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Engine Swap Options

Hello.. I have a 92 CB7 Sedan with an Auto Transmission. I'm going a VIP Route so I'm keeping the Auto in the car. I've been looking around for f22a6 performance parts and I'm not seeing a lot of options(IDK Maybe I'm lookin In The Wrong Place), but I Have been looking at a couple of swaps and I'm not sure which one I want to choose from. Here r my options:
    1) 94-97 CD Accord VTEC Engine & Auto Tranny Swap(2.2 L F22B2 I4 )
    2)98 Accord VTEC Engine & Auto Tranny Swap(2.3L F23A1 I4)
3)Honda F20B VTEC Engine & Auto Tranny Swap
4)92-96 Honda Prelude H22A VTEC Engine & Auto Tranny Swap
Those r a few. I have few more Ideas, but I would like to hear from u guys so let me knw wat u think.

I see you live in California.....

    1) Do you have a hookup on smog?

Swapping any of the motors you listed above will give a smart smog ref a field day. You need to get the motor BAR'd and you should be good....however it is a 50/50 with automatic transmission.

Since you are auto, the swaps you will have the least troubles passing are the newer F22B and F23A motors. Reason being these are USDM motors.

The F20B and the H22A will be a 50/50 because a smog ref will almost never pass you because they will check the ECU. In order for a swap to be legal...u need to pass visual and they will run the codes for the ECU itself. There was no such thing as automatic OBD1 H22A and F20B ecu here stateside. Auto H22a only appeared in the 97up prelude and the
F20B..goodluck with that flashy blue valvecover because this is where you will fail.

If you got a hookup for smog... i'd say the H22A auto is going to be your best swap! My first CB7 had a '92 JDM spec H22A motor. I had the PON TCU but I hated how it shifted so early.... It made me feel like I was driving one of those newer Sentra with the CVT tranny.

I ran it with a H23 TCU and the shifting points were perfect. To stay in V-tec I used a V-AFC.

But in all honesty... if you are going to swap do a 5-speed conversion and you'll enjoy the power more!

Till this day I've had to get hooked up from one of my bois friend coz I can never pass my car in it's current state. My older CB7 I tried Ref it 5x and one time 3x in one day! (Don't try the Sac BAR ref... he failed me because my car was lowered and he took my money knowing that before. Then he went on about saying my blackbox needed to come out of a prelude etc. etc. When I argued about that he told me the other smog techs I went to are wrong......right.

Wow thats some good inside. Thank for responding back to me. So definitely then I want to stay in the F-Series. I dnt have any smog connects, but It would be cool If I did. My friends r hating on the auto too, but I like it, especially for the VIP Route, but again thank u for writing me back. I really do appreciate it.
