ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    battery hookup

I have my battery hooked up like this , http://m1172.photobucket.com/albumvi...n.jpg.html?o=0 and my car's lights will cut on and everything but the car won't crank. Also sorry about it being the URL and not the image I'm on my phone and its limiting me. But anyway is this the right way too hook it up or am I missing something?

Is your starter trying to work? Dose it make a click noise? Do your lights stay on after you crank it or do they turn off when you try to crank it?

See on your red (positive) terminal it looks like you just have the cable smashed in there, well that's wrong. If it does start most likely it will shake loose and fall off. What you need to do is make sure about 3/4 of an inch of wire is exposed, then loosen the 2 10mm bolts on the positive terminal. Slide the exposed wire into the slot where you loosened the 10mm bolts then retighten them. Make sure the terminal is removed from the battery before you do this

yeah take the terminals apart, clean them up with a wire brush or something and put them back together and make sure they aren't loose. i see loose and dirty battery connections do that all of the time.

If your lights are bright, then when you hit the starter it just clicks and the lights go out, is usually the ground. However, if it is turning very slow and there is no clicking. It could be a sign your starter is going bad. Mine recently done this. At first it really seemed like a ground like Deev said. And that is usually the problem. Honda starters usually do not go bad. But after 20 years it is possible.
