ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Code 9

This is preteining to a friends car

    Its a 1993 EX sedan

It was giving code 9 for the CYP - cylinder sensor

We went over to the junkyard and grabbed another distributor but we still have the code

What should i look into next?

Well it is the JY so anything u grab out of there is hit and miss. The chances of picking up a dizzy with the same issue is slim but not impossible. Is there a way u can use another distributor (other than the 2 u already have) just to double check if thats the issue?

Having a lose connection on the injectors will trip the CYP cell aswell since it all works off one another.

I'm not really quite sure. The engine doesn't seem as powerful as mine but it still moves well. It might be the CEL or it might be the fact that his car is more worn and tired than mine.

Already did that, it came back right away.

If an injector connector was loose i would imagine the engine would run a lot worse than it does. For the most part it runs pretty good.

The CYP will cause the car to act up like it's running out of fuel, but the problem will be random it will not be a steady issue until it is completely gone.I've had the issue on my old ED6 and my CB with my civic it was wiring or the distributor, but on the accord it was a lose connector on cyl 2.

Just giving you ideas....... other than wiring/distributor/or connection issues i don't know what else it could be.Maybe a faulty ecu but i highly recommend that everything else is checked first.Since its your buddys why not try out your distributor on his?
