ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    ebay

i was looking at some of the part in ebay and they have a few intakes and other stuff that are pretty cheap. Are they worth it or does the brand really matter?

f your talking about a cheap short ram intake, then you can buy that and use the pipe. But replace the cone filter with a quality one like K&N. Or you could just buy the filter and put it on the stock tubing. There is a DIY for it on here somewhere. But its pretty straight forward.

Learn what each part does, how it works, and what parts are important. Then apply that knowledge to the cheap parts to determine if they are worth the risk.

For example, a cheap intake is a pipe and a filter. The pipe is just that... a pipe. All it has to do is fit. Will it? Maybe. Cheap parts aren't exactly measured perfectly. The filter keeps your engine safe from dust and debris. A performance filter does this while allowing improved airflow. Will a cheap filter allow for improved airflow? Maybe. Will it allow more dust and debris to enter your engine than you want? Probably.
In terms of an intake, a cheap pipe is usually fine, but you'll want a quality filter, such as AEM or K&N.

Header? It may leak. It may crack. It may be fine (but gains will be minimal... as little to no R&D will have been done.)

      Clutch? Yeah... don't bother.

Exhaust? Sometimes ok... sometimes it won't fit perfectly. It will most likely be very loud.

Suspension? Don't risk your life on cheap suspension parts.

Keep in mind that eBay itself sells nothing. The quality of the parts found on eBay may vary considerably. Educate yourself about the parts BEFORE you buy them, and you'll know what you need to know to determine what is worth the risk.
Quality parts can be found on eBay... brand names. Sometimes those brand name parts will be knockoffs, so be wary. However, many of them will be used, but still fully functional. I'd rather have used good stuff in decent shape than new cheap stuff in perfect shape.

Yeah man listen to deev. Sometimes you may think he's being an ass, but at the end of the day what he and other educated members say will save your engine and possibly your life. As for the cam gear, don't bother. My cousin got an ebay cam gear for his civic and it actually cracked! He noticed it before any harm was done but it could have been terrible if it broke. But good luck!
