ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

What PSI does the OIL LIGHT come on

At what PSI does the oil light come on in our cars. My guage has been reading anywhere from 8-10 at idle. I know the manual says 10 PSI as a minimum. But I've always thought it was 10 PSI for every 1000 RPMS and if my car idles at 750 RPMS then I would expect 7.5 PSI is that correct.

At what PSI does the oil light come on?

When I was looking for oil pressure switch for my motorcycle, I found there are two pressure settings for generic switches, 2-4 and 3.5-7.5 psi for possibly different applications. There could be more different settings.

I have no knowledge for Accords. But it would be similar numbers, I'd say.

I dont think the oil light comes on with low psi. I have seen one that drove around without the oil cap and there was no light on. But it could have been a fluke that there was no light.

Having the cap off has no influence on pressures.

        I believe under 5psi.

So my thinking about 10 psi for every 1000 rpms is about right. With me running 8-9 psi won't damage any parts?

No one can guarantee you that over the internet.I thought a cold start PSI was suppose to be higher than that, but i don't remember for sure.

my cold start psi is around 85 but when it gets to opperating temp it drops to 8-10 at idle.

When the rpms drop to 1000 when it is warming up the psi is around 25
