ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I manage to remove it without messing with the mani. It all looks fine, I mean it's a bit dark because lack of light, but everything is intaked and the wires is in. Nothing is loose. So what the next thing to see?

Ok, so should I move to a thicker-grade oil?

Replace the sensor........... and you should have no problems reaching it from the bottom. You would have to have extremely long and flexable arms to reach the oil sending unit from the top of the bay.

A thicker weight oil is just a band-aid it will not fix the issue for good. Here is where i'd start......
1- Make sure the cars full of oil to begin with.
2- Replace the oil sending unit.
                3- Clean the sump.
4- Check the tolerances on the oil pump if out of spec replace.
                5- Check the main bearings.

Thats basically from the easiest/cheapest to more involved and more expensive.

I just replaced mine, and the issue was a hair line crack in the plastic of the sensor, trick to see from the bottom, plain as day from the top. But my car was already pretty tore apart

                        What is the "sump"?
and how to check tolerances on oil pump? -- what does this even mean? -- thanks in advance

Have you even replaced the oil sending unit?

The sump or oil pick up is located and rest in the bottom of the oil pan its a tube you can not miss it.

The oil pump has specifications once it's out of spec it need replacing or rebuilding, it is a wear part and does not last forever.

And if you have to ask these sort of questions then have someone who knows what they're doing check it out and do the work for you.

I may have to pay someone for the work. Which I find real irritating. All need is the Info, and I can do it myself.

I haven't replaced the sensor. I'm working on this tomorrow, Saturday.

You can either buy yourself a repair manual or download one online.
