ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Check engine light still on after replacing fuel pump

So I just replaced the Fuel pump and the fuel sending unit and it was easy enough.Short after I began to get thin white smoke from exhaust that smelled like strong gasoline. So I did some tweaking and let the car run for a little while and the white smoke went away, but the exhaust still smells strong of gasoline and the check engine light is still on.I ran the ECU code and it was 14 but I read that code 14 is bad ECU so I have a new one on the way.The car is idleing a little high and the gas stinks from sitting, but other than that the car runs good.Anyone got any ideas why I would have white smoke from the exhaust after replacing the fuel pump, cuz I checked the coolant levels and they never dropped so I dont think its the headgasket. And the white smoke was thin and went away after a few mins so that leaves me to believe that maybe there is condensation built up in the exhaust or maybe the fuel mixture isnt burning right. The spark plugs and distributer were bolth recently replaced and the PCV aswell, anyone got an ideas of what it might be?

if it's cold outside you will see steam from the exhaust when you first start it up. It's condensation as you had mentioned.

I don't know about the fuel smell... But if you already have an ECU on the way you should replace that and then trace down the source of the fuel source. In my opinion, that is.

I got the code from the S light on the dash that blinked 1 long 4 short lights, but when I read online forums it said that when the S blinks 14 code its an error meaning the ECU is bad.But like you said in the book it says 14 code is the Air Idle Controle valve, but I checked the valve and it was sucking in air so Im not sure what it is.When I tried to drive the car,it bogged down on acceleration so maybe it is the AICV?

A check engine light is different than a "S" light.

Check engine light is for the ECU
The "S" (Sport) light is for the TCU which is related to the transmission and not the car's engine. Read the link i'm posting below thoroughly....

The codes are already in the "read here first" sticky that nobody reads... but I'll find a way to work that one in as well. Brandon offered a hell of a lot of great additional information there.

I was expecting "It's my site when you own your own you can sticky whatever" good to see we can get along every now and again. Either that or you're dying.

Hell 70% or more of the questions asked here are in the stickies, but seems they are camouflaged.

I'm only a dick when people suggest stupid things! When the suggestions are actually good (and actually doable) then I'm all for it.

The stickies are so extensive now that it does take some effort to look through them. evil_demon_01 spent a lot of time organizing the index stickies we have now, in order to eliminate the 10 stickies cluttering up every section.

so I just installed my new ECU but I cant get a code because the car wont turn over.I am gonna drain the gas and put some new gas in there and see if that will help.

Lol. Bad fuel, good fuel, neither will prevent the engine from turning over.

Suspect a blown ECU fuse or the plugs aren't making proper connections to the ECU pins. Also why did you change the ecu...... did you not read what i posted?

The "S" light is not related to the ECU.

because I keep rechecking the fuel delivery system and I cant find the problem and the ecu wasnt giving the check engine code. The S light gave me code 14 but who knows wtf that could be as I alrdy over checked everything from fuel pressure too sensors. The coolant tempature sensor is brand new, fuel pump is brand new, checked fuel pressure in the lines,O2 sensor is new..I dunno wtf it could be if I cant get a check engine code to register.yes I read the S light code 14 from your post about it being part of the PGMFI but it doesnt say what exactly it is.

TCU- 14-Linear (line pressure control) solenoid open or shorted.

Why do you think it's a fuel issue? does the pump prime? If so have you checked the fuel PSI?

Throwing parts at the car wont fix it cheaply. We can try and help, but for gods sake and your own try to listen.
