ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Exhaust leak, abs light, brake light.

Hey guys this is a great site so far. Yesterday at 9pm I purchased my first car, a green '93 accord. After test driving twice I thought it was worth the money. Only has 140k on it, but there are a few minor problems. When it shifts from 2nd to 3rd it seems to be a little late, and same for higher gears. I'm wondering if this is because of the exhaust leak? Also, both the brake light and the abs lights are on, however they weren't on my first test drive. The breaks only barely squeak and don't slip at all. Not sure why this is? And there is a broken cv on the passengers side. I'm a total car newbie as this is my first, so all help and comments are appreciated. Thanks guys!

How much did you paid for the car? Unless you can do it yourself, it's going to cost a little to get it in top shape. I got my 90 LX 4AT about 4 years ago for $2150 which is a little high but the only problem was distributor o ring and valve cover. Every thing else was done. The previous owner, had the car maintained mostly by Honda certified shops. It only had 136K miles. First thing I did was replaced the tires and did an alignment. It was so out of alignment that all tires was showing metal on the inside half of the tires while the outer part were all brand new.

I have been working on it ever since. It's all stock. Now I just need to figure out how to get it to give better gas mileage. It's at 22 and I know it could be better. I did NGK plugs and cables, caps and rotor. Timing is on. Not sure what else. I did valve adjustments and clean the EGR ports and valve.
      Oh well.
