ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

straight pipe vs cat

have u ever seen the honey comb structure in a cat. before? after a while it starts getting cllogged with all these little particles and creates alot of back pressure. but this is its job to colect these particles. straight pipe does the oppisite, no back pressure.
it depends if u want back pressure or not. whether your racing, or daily driving, obd1, obd2, exc...One step @ a time

When the hell do you WANT backpressure?
Use a cat. Regardless of the structure, the cats we use are actually very free-flowing. In anything but an all-out race car, you don't need the extra 1-2hp a straight pipe may give you. Removing the cat will make your car sound terrible, smell terrible, and be illegal according to federal law (though I'm sure in Kentucky they don't give a rat's ass about your emissions... yet... they will eventually, trust me.)
Also, the cat should not clog, as there should be no particles exiting your exhaust valves. If there are particles to be collected by the cat, then you have far worse problems than a clogged cat! Clogged cats are usually the result of engines that run way too hot, and end up melting the catalyst (which is difficult to do, as the cat is designed to be VERY hot.)

I didn't feel any power difference between the stock cat, test pipe, or magnaflow high flow cat(stock F22 w/ 200k+). The ebay test pipe doesn't fit as well, not surprised of course.
So if you want to make more noise go with the test pipe. Between the stock or aftermarket cat, I didn't notice a power difference.
I guess it might make a noticeable difference on a fully built engine.
