ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

engine hesitates if I give it gas slowly

Yesterday I changed the seals in my power steering pump and replaced the old belt with a new one. Now, if I press the gas pedal slowly the engine hesitates, when I let off of the gas it stumbles and if I turn the wheel slowly it stumbles; nearly stalling. It idles great at about 700rpm if I leave it alone.

I've tried tightening the belt and resetting the ECU to no avail.

Remove PSP belt and see if it makes any difference. If it does, then, something went wrong with re-seal Job on PSP. Replace it with another unit or re-do the work.

strange set of circumstances, ecu would not change but resetting it never hurts, if the belt is super tight it could cause excess drag...

remove the belt, see how it is, if it goes away put the belt on sort of loose/tight i cant imagine a psp causing that much drag but its possible

What could have gone wrong? I made sure that nothing was binding before I reinstalled the pump and the power steering is working better than ever.

I went out and jacked the front wheels up to see if that'd tell me anything. With the front of the car jacked up, I got no fluctuation in engine RPM when turning the steering wheel(unlike with the wheels on the ground); however, both pressing the gas pedal slowly and letting off quickly caused stumbling still.

Did you torque the pulley to spec?

Not to spec; just good and tight. I'm not worried about it working its way loose since the engine rotates CCW.

Anyway, problem solved(famous last words). Tightening the FIT valve and resetting the ECU did nothing but setting the base idle to 600rpm with IAC valve unplugged and resetting the ECU seems to have fixed it.
