Okay I just got my first Honda. It's a 93 accord ex. Now when I shift to 2nd it grinds. I have the clutch all the way down and shift slowly. It isn't hard to shift. It slips right into gear but it lightly grinds and its annoying.. how can I fix this?

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

since u said it hard to shift, does your car a stop position with the clutch to the floor still feel like it moving forward? if so try changing the master clutch cylinder and the slave cylinder, they might be worn out thus not fully disengaging the clutch making it hard to shift and grind going into gear, also bleed the system very well to get all the air out

does it only grinds when you shift to 2nd gear ONLY? try changing its oil like mr.thepowderblue said. and if it doesnt fix the problem youre probably looking at a worn out synchronizer ring. Ive seen alot of 2nd gear going bad on hondas coz kids are shifting too fast from 1st to 2nd at high rpms causing the snychro ring to wear out.! just throwin it out there.

No, all Hondas are not "know for there second gear grind". It is not a "Honda problem".
The problem is that the synchronizers are worn out. The cause is probably improper shifting by previous owners, a failure to change the oil (people regularly neglect transmission oil), or perhaps you are simply shifting too quickly.
Changing to good fluid, like Honda MTF or GM Synchromesh (my choice), may help... but it won't fix damage that is already done. That will require a rebuild.
