ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Dome Light Trouble

My dome light isnt coming on at all, in the middle or on position. I removed it and wired it to a ground and a 12v source to check to see if it works and it does, the bulb lit up in both positions. My dash indicates everytime a door is opened on all four but my door lights do not work either, so im guessing its in my Dome light wiring....so where exactly can i go to check to see if my dome light is grounded or being powered??

I had the same problem, and it tuned out to be the little slider sensors in the door jamb. The dash would still light when a door was opened, but no lights would come on.

You can take them off and pull them apart to clean the connections. I am assuming you already checked all the grounds?

Each one of the door triggers is a ground. I found this explaining in a little more detail:

          http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...e+light+wiring

I would start with a good cleaning of these switches, then move on to bulbs and fuses. If that doesn't work, move on to wiring. GoodLuck

I had the same exact problem.. I removed the dome and disassembled it, and its not wire inside its just like metal pathways to the switch. I lightly sanded all the connecting areas on the switch plate, and bent the spring on it a little to give it a better more solid connection, plus it makes the switch action firmer. My light works great now. Just use an electrical multi tester to be sure you have power to the dome first. I did this a while back, but if I remember correctly, one of the mounting bolts is the ground... hope that helps.
