ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

The heat shield, I got the 3 bolts off but it stuck on the silver metal to the right next to the alternator. Should I just bend that metal plate to remove the heat shield? It looks like the manual show the O2 removal socket and not taking the shield off.
    Thanks.
Like I said.... If you use the socket, heat shield stays on. Use the wrench, heat shield comes off. Yes you can sort of bend the shield to get it out.

Thanks again every one. I am going to update once the job is done. I want to paint the heat shield black. I got some of that barbeque spray paint that can withstand up to 1200 F. How should I paint it? I mean how many coat? Should I do one coat, then wait half an hour, do another coat. Then wait 48 hours, then do a 3rd and final coat?
      Thanks.

I would do many thin coats to prevents runs, then bake it in the oven on 225 for about 15 minutes. If your wife says hell fucking no, I THINK you can cure it on the car.

We live in a studio apt. so no big oven that can fit it. Just a small toast oven. How many thin coats would you recommend? I want it to last as long as possible. Is this paint ok or should I buy the paint for exhaust up to 1400 F?
This can I got for $3.94.
          Thanks.

When I blackhoused my lights I did like 6 light coats. If it were me, I'd use the exhaust paint, but that's me. I can't say for certain how hot our headers get.

I took a peek at the top area of my header and it looked brown like it's rusted. Is that the color it's suppose to be? Or is that rust over time? What color should an OEM header be? If it's rust, should I be looking for a new one as this one might crack soon?

                  Thanks.
