ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

The plug isn't loose just the wire. But when I put the wire on it does snap, but rides up while going down the road. I never had this problem with my old wires, These were also good until I removes them once.

How about swapping position of plugs. Move #2 plug to, say, #1. And see what happens.

If the wire on #2 cylinder still pops off, you have problem with wire. Snapping force is not strong enough, maybe.

If the wire on #1 cylinder pops off, the you have problem with that plug.

also the medal clip might be pushed in to far, try grabbing it with a pair of pliers and pull on it, while pushing on the the wire right at the bend.

I think I fixed the wire issue. After I bent the metal it hasn't popped off since. I went for a 50 mile ride and I had no hesitation. The wire also didn't come off.

So it has happeded again. The number 2 plug wire snaps, but after the engine gets to opperating temp the wire rides back up the tube. I have tried to clean the wire with brake clean, carb clean, and even wd40, and none have worked. After it warms up the oil comes out and starts to make the wire ride up. But I would think that the wire should hold onto the plug am I right?

Would it be a good idea to replace the lower seams around the spark plug tube? I changed the top, but not the bottom.

Can you buy just single plug wires because I just bought these wires a couple months ago.

The wire pops off even when the car is off, is there anyway to make the snapping force better. Could I bend it a little to make it snap better?

The thing is I just bought these a few months ago. I don't really feel like spending another $30. Is there any tricks to make them stay down.

Damnest thing, although it takes two or three minutes and considerable exertion to try to take the plug wires off by hand, it seems to be a lot easier to drive down the road and let it pop off itself.

But seriously, I tried making a hole in the top of the boot in the event that it was air pressure building up, and this did nothing.

Finally, took the rubber piece off of the stem that slips over the insulator of the plug and haven't had any trouble since. As a matter of fact, I stopped having trouble with this one popping off, and then a different one popped off, so I took the rubber piece of the end of the plug stem of all of them.

This makes the wires much easier to pull back off, unlike before, but they stay on like this. My only conclusion I can base from this is that the rubber piece is swelling to the point that it pushes the wire back off of the plug enough to either make air pressure blow it off, or the spark jumping between the top of the plug and the connector is making it pop up. It's the only thing I can think off that makes the most sense.

So if your having this problem, do yourself a big favor and take those blasted rubber tips off of the end of the plug wire tubes and plug your wires back on, this may save a lot of aggravation!

Could I try what this guy did?

Could I crimp the metal a little to make it snap harder? Or should I just go and buy new wires.

I went back to the Bond that I got the plug wires from and told them my problem and without a receipt they just looked on there computer and said yes you bought them. So I gave them my old wires and got a new set Free of charge. All of these are staying in there holes.
