    obx muffler

Does anyone have experience with obx mufflers the oval type not the twin loop or exhaust cannon lol. While my car is in the shop I'm looking at exhaust again and didn't know how reputable they were I would like a deep tone not to "ricey " sound. Youftube clips are distorted. Also what's is the design purpose of the twin loop?

I had the OBX MV-U4 muffler. It was very WS2ish in sound, just slightly louder. It still had a nice low tone to it too.

I had a full 2.5" exhaust with a 2.5" Catco cat and a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator.

That's exactly what I was looking at. I was going to upgrade all my piping. Right now I have a 4inch tip "carbon fiber" wrapped cannon lol still deep but to me looks way to ugly for the. Car

Just remember if its crushed bent it wont be a 2.5" exhaust, you will have restriction points at the bends. Has to be mandrel bent to keep the 2.5" all the way.

I had a Megan Racing Cat-Back on my last CB7. It sounded awesome, a very deep low tone even under WOT. No raspiness at all. Just throwing it out there for ya.

A coworker of mine has an obx muffler on her prelude, and it sounds awesome. I'm looking at doing 2.5 piping all the way back with an obx muffler now, after hearing her car. It's deep, and pretty quiet until she gets on it.

Did you have the stock header ? I am planning on getting 2.5" piping with a universal 2.5" magnaflow cat, vibrant standard (bottle style) resonator, and a obx muffler and keeping the stock header for now, but will upgrade to a megan header later on.

@ "upgrade" to a Megan header. Those things aren't much more effective than stock, other than being shiny (for a little while...)

OBX is really nothing more than a knockoff "ebay" brand. One of the better, but their parts are nothing special. It's a muffler. Plain and simple.
The same goes for Megan. They're another knockoff company as well.

I will agree with the Megan Header just being a shiny replacement but their Cat-Back was really good quality I thought. Had a great sound and noticeable gains.

Larger piping = noticeable gains. Though yes, their catbacks do seem to be made decently now. OBX is as well. As I said, they're among the better "ebay" companies.

Unfortunately, no. There really aren't any good options that give any significant gains besides Bisimoto. Megan isn't much better or worse than anything else on the market.

I don't recommend Bisimoto header if you are looking for a bolt-on installation onto your car.

Yeah, Bisimoto takes some modification to install... makes no sense to me, and the explanation given didn't really explain anything (especially since it's so "custom") but hey... it DOES perform. It's the only header that gives significant gains. Everything else will give maybe 5-7whp when paired with an intake and exhaust. Ok for the price, but if you actually want to make any real power, Bisimoto is the only worthwhile option.

ESP mentioned making an F22A header that would be a more generic looking design than the Bisimoto piece, but would probably perform a good deal better than the cheapies. The price they mentioned was probably somewhere around $400 (this may be considerably different now due to metal prices... so don't assume that's what it would be if they made one now... I can't speak for them.) They brought it up around the time the Bisimoto header hype was at its peak, so all the "it's not bisimoto" comments I think frustrated them out of making it. If people are genuinely interested, though, perhaps we could talk to them and make an F22A header happen. It may not make Bisimoto power, but it won't be Bisimoto price, either... and the performance would certainly be better than a $50 cheapie bought on ebay (and the quality would be MUCH better, as ESP makes top-notch parts.)
