ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    F22B dohc header

I would like to start a little mini project and wondered if a f22b Dohc header on my a1 would have any gain ( and I understand very little). I saw the thread deev has about performance under 500$ and wasn't sure how the h23 header stacks up to the f22b. Basicly is it worth my time and effort to change the header?

The F22B header may be very similar, if not exactly the same as, the H23 header. If you have access to the F22B piece, give it a shot.
Since aftermarket headers are so cheap now (even if they're the low-quality stuff you find on ebay), a stock header probably won't outperform them. It's probably best to just get a cheap Megan Racing or OBX header.

Well I pulled the heat shield of my a1 header and found that the header was cracked. That could explain some excess heat. However I noticed that the a1 header had a o2 sensor plugged in and the f22b doesn't have a spot for one. Do I just use it without the sensor or what?

No, you need an O2 sensor. There is more wiring inside the loom, you just have to split the loom open and let it out. The lower portion of the DOHC headers have the bung for the O2 sensor on it instead of the upper portion like your A1. Letting out the excess wire will allow you to stretch the O2 to its new home.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

I'm confused. The o2 sensor on my a1 is on the bottom. The f22b header has no bung for a sensor just the bolt holes for the heat shieldalso the a1 header is a 4-1 where as the f22b is a 4-2. So I guess I need a down pipe.

The F22B DOHC, H23A1, and F22A4/6 have the o2 sensor on the lower half of the manifold. The "downpipe", if you want to call it that. The A1 has it in the front, on the upper half.

Oh OK so if I got the lower half of the manifold from a a4/6 I would plug the o2 there. Now is that a4 or a6 going to work with the f22b header. Not sure how to put it. At the bottom of the top half of the manifold there are two ports not one like the a1.

Or is it just like the f22a1

You don't mix the top and bottom halves. The "header" is the entire part, from the engine all the way to the cat.
If you get one that has a bung in a different location, you'll need to do one of three things:
                1) cut your wires and splice on a new sensor in the correct place (the worst option, one I'd avoid doing personally.)
                2) Having a new o2 bung welded in the same place as your current one, so you can use the stock wiring
                3) create a subharness to extend the wiring and plug in an o2 sensor intended for an EX/SE model.

My F22b dohc came with a PT6 cast manifold, same one found on the f22a6. The manifold clearly had PT6 stamped on it.

man, you are making this entirely too complicated. Just get yourself an aftermarket header made for the Accord.
