ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

      Ouch, my brain hurts.

The F22B1 is SOHC. VTEC. And no, you will gain absolutely nothing from installing a non-VTEC camshaft from an F22A on an F22B1. If it would even work, it would certainly not be of any benefit, at all. It may even cause damage. The camshaft isn't the issue anyway. It's the head itself. The F22A head is capable of flowing VERY well when modified, but the F22B1 head is quite cramped due to the crappy intake-only VTEC system. The ports are restricted, and the valve angles are poor.

Unless you're planning on going extreme with the build, the F22B1 is just fine. If you want to make more than 250whp N/A with it, then the F22A would be the better choice (and you can always just pick up a spare to build on the side at your leisure.)

Ive got a B2 head on the bench rite now, really dont understand why Honda bottleneck that head like they did, unless they wanted to create a higher velocity. I do like the EGR port access plate on the intake manifold though...

But it's a crappy intake manifold also.

An h23 manifold would be superb on the b1.... Trust me it fits, idk why people say it don't but it does, I've done it to a f22b1 that was in a prelude and it bolted up just fine....that'll be a good upgrade for your build

If i recall correctly a while back there was a debate on oem cam's and the b2 is up to par if not better than the a6 cam IIRC GhostAccord stated this.
This was in regards to IBCNYA post not the op's.

It was done for efficiency. A bottleneck provides high velocity, and therefore good fuel mixture in the cylinders at low RPM. The F22B1 and F22B2 are very efficient, well-designed engines for their intended purposes. They just don't have an abundance of performance potential compared to the F22A (however, they aren't COMPLETELY worthless... they CAN make power with enough work... the F22A is just the better choice, especially in a CB7 that already comes with it!)

The B2 cam may have a better profile, but the head design is restrictive.
Can the B2 cam be used on an F22A? I know the B1 cam can't be used for obvious reasons, but I don't know about the B2.
