ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

another auto 5 speed bracket question

hello i am in process of 5 speed swap
    h2u5 out of a 93 ex
problem is i read you could use a cd5 trans mount and bracket.
but only one of the holes line up on the trans studs.
i dont have access to welder but i also read (and i cant find the thread) that there is a mark on the auto chassis bracket (welded to car) where the hole WOULD be drilled for the 5 speed to work. like they are the same measurement specs but the hole is in a diff place and thats what makes them different.
    any advice would help
i cant afford a esp mount right now but real soon i just need to get back on the road

You cannot use the CD5 mount. Whoever says that is a moron. If you want to try it, you'll have to tap a new hole in the transmission casing. There are instructions for doing that in the Swaps section of this site (as it is a necessary step for an H22 engine/trans swap.)

the easiest and most safest way to do this swap is by buying the esp mount. if you cant buy it now then wait until you could. both the auto tranny and manual tranny bracket are NOT the same specs they are inches apart.. I personally know this because on my first cb7 i did the 5 speed swap the remove and weld in the new bracket way i did this before ESP came out with the tranny mount conversion. if you need your car running ASAP then i suggest asking people to lend you money to get that mount

Im about to attempt this also with the same tranny. I've done quit a bit of research and don't have access to a welder either. The best option is to get the ESP mount in my reading and is my next step.

Did you read anything else in that quote? That's an axle break waiting to happen. He even uses the word "rig" to describe the process. It honestly shouldn't be a suggestion. Mounts just need to be done right the first time. If it were me I wouldn't have started the swap without the ESP one if I didn't have the ability to weld.

Just because it CAN be done, doesn't mean it's a good idea...

In fact the guy posting that quote from mike has broken several axles since doing his swap. Weld on the manual trans mount or get the ESP mount. If you cannot afford to do it right why do it at all?

That was because I got the wrong axles from autozone or they were giving me to short of axles. But with out the cd5 mount in I would jack up the tranny to were it would be with the oem accord mounts and it was still stretched. meaning the axle was to short. And now with the correct sized axle I have drove the car everyday this week and not a problme and I have been beating pretty hard on the car even launched it a few times.

weren't a lot of people breaking axles by stacking washers on the driver side? something about making the engine sit slanted.
