ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

This is how my morning started. How bad do you think it is? What parts do you think I need?

I'm going to recommend you watch this .

Also, replacing the passenger side lower ball joint may not be such a bad idea either. In fact, I'd go thru your whole suspension to check for any loose, worn, or broken parts (including boots and bushings). Repair and replace as necessary.

What are the symptoms before you got this broken joint? Didn't you notice it shaking at high speed or any thing? I just wonder so I can keep an ear out for it.
          Thanks.

Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that this should be picked up before you hear sounds while you are driving.

In short, jack the car up and try to move the tire in and out with your hands on the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock, and again at 3 and 9. Search for full details, but it's a routine maintenance check.

I started hearing some squeaking in the last 3 weeks...got louder in time. I thought it was the shock mount going bad for new struts. Had no idea it was the ball joint. Still no word from the shop!

Looks like your oil pan gasket is leaking too

Hopefully they don't kill you on the axle and bj.

Glad your ok and no further damage was done.

How long has the shop held your car? It shouldn't take that long to fix. An hour tops if they got air tools. Keep us posted. Was the ball joint boot broken? Maybe that's what.

Your lucky your tire didn't tear into and buckle the shit out your fender, etc. I check my ball joints every time my front end is off the ground(at least twice a month for me) by using a pry bar by prying up and down between the lower control arm and knuckle while watching for play, might be just me but I find it way easier than wiggling a tire trying to figure out where the play is coming from... Man, that had to be vibrating at some point while u were driving. Lol

This happened to new on new years....so I replaced both axles, upper control arms, lower ball joints, sway bar bushings and tie rod ends. No shop seeing as how I have all the tools and know how on doing it, only took a few hours...just get your alignment done after and you'll be good to go

Shop just called and the axle and ball joint needs to be replaced. Parts, labor and tow is running at $500. @binladin...Its odd man...no vibration at all when I drove. Alignment was pulling slightly to one side but nothing to crazy.

Five hundred sounds reasonable for that work, but definitely check out the other side for the same issue. Make sure they use an OEM or MOOG lower ball joint.

You don't want to pay the 500 then a month later the left side blows out. Just rather be safe then sorry. Hopefully you get the cb back and everything is ok.
