ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Nothing he said confirms that.Originally posted by Ely585 View Postyou are burning coolant.. check your oil dip stick for a milky color . If its milky head gasket is blown.
Anybody correct me if I am wrong.
White smoke is coolant. It has a sweet smell.
Blue smoke is oil. It has a "thick" smell. Very obvious.
"Whitish blue" means nothing, unless you happen to be burning both oil AND coolant (possible with a bad head gasket.)
It could very well just be condensation burning off, which has no smell whatsoever. That is actually more likely than anything else, since it only happens when the car is first started after being allowed to cool for a while.
However, don't EVER assume that just because something has been replaced that it can't be bad. Any of the new parts could be bad, as could the installation. I've seen far too many people on this site over the years that refused to believe their new part was faulty, and threw an unnecessarily large amount of money at the car replacing everything else.
There is no such thing as a "steam valve". If your buddy said that, he knows no more about cars than you do.
If the head is new, no valve seals should be bad. If they are, then whoever sold you the new head either sold you crap, assembled it poorly, or lied. In fact, everything in the head should be new before installing it... so your issue, if it's not due to a faulty head or installation, is in the bottom end. If you're burning oil, it's more likely to be the piston rings (if there's nothing wrong with the head, of course.)
Do as Ely585 said, and check the condition of your oil and coolant. If there is any evidence that they are mixing (a milky appearance), then it's the head gasket. Take it back to whoever installed it and demand they redo it properly.
Otherwise, make a better effort to identify exactly WHAT is burning, and we can help better from there.

I had the same problem with my buddies H22 head, and he had the machine shop replace the valve seals and 6 bent valves. What ended up happening was the valve seals where not installed correctly. So there for anytime the car sat for a while, oil would slip by the seals and puddle up on top of the piston. Then when he went to start it up, it would smoke at first because of the oil. He took it back to the machine shop and had them fix the seals, now the problem is fixed. Hope this help's.
