ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Okay so in this video the guy added a PVC pipe(prevent over heat)....Is this something that was unnecessary? Because I plan on buy my SRI soon...

sounds a bit silly to me.. but the stock air box was designed by Honda engineers to have enough airflow for the stock motor.. SRI is not necessary.

The pre-pube that made the video doesn't seem to understand the aerodynamics of his vehicle.

There is plenty of air in the engine bay to draw from. No additional piping is necessary. The engine's ability to breathe has never been limited by the airflow under the hood.

No. you dont need that pvc pipe. Your fine with just the sri. you wont see much of a change in hp or power, its mostly just the sound. But, it does sound cool

Yea I was a little curious...Do you still have that CAI in your cb? I remember you saying you had to cut holes all over the place and you regretted it

Only one hole, but yeah... it's right where that kid's pipe is in his engine bay. I had to double the size of that hole, and it's a rusty mess now. I've even sanded it down, sprayed it with rust converter, and painted it... still a rusty butthole in my engine bay. Eventually, it could lead to enough rot that it will compromise the structural integrity of my front end. At that time, I'll have 3 options... weld in new sheet metal, create a tube-frame front end, or junk the car

There's so little to be gained from a CAI over a short ram that it's really not even worth it. I truly do regret it. If I could go back 10 years and tell my younger self to get a cheap short ram with a quality filter, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Stick with the sri. Or if you just want better sound and a slightly denser charge but want to be cheap cut a large hole in the air resonator box under the passenger side directly below the battery, its plastic so it can't rust out. Or remove it altogether, if doing so you will need a vacuum plug for that valve next to the battery can't recall the name of it at the moment
