ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

3rd gear grind

its located where the shifter is, take off the knob and the plasitc console around it, there should be 2 cables to adjust, SOME ppl dont have the adjustable option, idk why..Originally posted by Laviathan222 View Postthe shifter cable you adjusted is that on the tranny? or the right one of the two that inside the car at the shifter...
the fluid filler is on the right hand side, take off the passenger wheel and look at the tranny by the axle, above it should be a 17mm bolt, remove that and add fluid to there until fluid starts dripping out, then u know its full, theres another bolt, which is a 1/2" socket drive, which removes a bolt to drain the oil

what a great website!! I'm finding every little issue that I have wrong with mine in here... and getting some exceptional info to boot.
So mine has the 3rd gear grind blues as well. I never thought about auto ~> manual conversion being the culprit until reading it on here. It kind of makes sense the more I think about it though, because the more I work around my engine...the more I'm discovering a whole lot of Mickey Mouse-ness that had occurred when trying to put the engine back in, like wire harnesses not fastened correct or completely, missing or replaced non-manufacturer bolts, marked up jy parts, etc..

i did a 5speed conversion, and my third gear grind,
i added 20w-50 to the tranny and it stopped it...
then i did a h22a swap with a new tranny... same thing 3rd gear grind...
added 20w-50 and still grinded..
i then adjusted the right shifter cable, as if i was unscrewing it.. i unscrewed it 1 complete turn everyday until the grind went away...
now my car shifts fine, no grinds or popouts, and everyone said my syncros badd. ha
MAYBE yours is, but u never know.
Well i did this and no more grind as of now... i cant get it to grind even when i try! Thanks!!!
