ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    F22B Swap to replace H23A1

Ok so, im tired of my H23A1, i bought the car of a guy who overheated it and the head went caputz, so i replaced the head for 300, a month later, the crankshaft goes byebye, another 300 bucks later, the freaking pully came off while i was driving it and the timing belt jump, power steering belt broke, and now, after 250 bucks later, the car will start but not run. I was on ebay and i found an F22B, i want it, but i dont know if its better to fix the H23A1 again, or buy the F22B and just drop it in. Ill have both engines and i hear you can do some neat adjusts. What do you guys recommend?

I would take the F22B over rebuilding the H23, unless there is a reputable shop near you that knows how to bore/hone FRM walls.

Not unless i go to Mexico, i live in the border, also another question, what can i use from the H23A1 to make the F22B "better"?

Not much. The F22B is essentially Japan's 2.2L answer to the H23A1 (they were both slotted under the VTEC model Prelude.) The engines are very similar in terms of performance. If anything, the H23A1 intake manifold MIGHT be larger... but even that I'm not sure of.

Personally, I'd get an engine that they have available in the US, to make finding replacement parts easier. I also wouldn't buy a used imported engine from an ebay seller. I've seen far too many overpriced paperweights purchased that way!
