ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

ITB or Skunk2 IM and TB

I plan on changing out my IM on my h22 to either a skunk2 IM and Tb or ITB. Well my qustion is what does it insist of changing out or deleting with each of these upgrades?

    What does it insist?

How would you plan on filtering the ITBs?

A Skunk2 manifold may offer you gains at nearly any stage. But what about your particular setup causes you to feel that you need ITBs?

Its not a need its more of a want. I like the way they look. Don't know what i have change to make them work. I have a stock motor but want more power.

You have to do alot of work to utilize an itb setup, skunk2 would be an easier swap that would work with anything you want to do. Itbs are for high revving built high compression N/A engines that require alot of air and fuel, also hard to tune and require lots of cash. Itbs only, $2000+ and a skunk2 being a fraction of that cost. A manifold can be used without a tune and tuned later if desired. Itbs have to be tuned to run properly.
Your best bet if your on a tight budget and don't have hours of time to research and understand how an itb setup works would be the skunk2. Just my opinion though.

Have you considered a RRC manifold with the k2h adapter?

I would go with a Skunk 2 or Euro R intake manifold setup. I say that because it still leaves the option of turbo later down the line or a mild NA setup. You'll also retain your sensors and not have to tune after the install.

I think OBX sells H22 ITB's now but it seems like a steep hill swapping your map sensors to throttle position sensor and getting all the equipment for the tune. I've only read up a little on the subject matter but it is pricey.

Price and flexibility I'd choose the Skunk 2 or Euro R intake setup.

On a stock H22, an intake upgrade will offer very limited gains... and be very expensive.

Oh ok I just feel like my response is slow, when I accelerate.

your response will be even slower with this manifold, this is really a top end manifold

take a look at the EURO R manifold, comparisons show the skunk2 making a few more over the euro r but killed the torque curve completely
the skunk2 manifold shines with cams and extra compression

Yeah I took a look at the euro r im. I liked it and it seems simple enough to do. Now is it will work better with a bigger tb or stock h22.

itll work with any size, although a 70mm tb might require some porting inside the manifold

Just remember, your engine is a giant air pump. The key is to get the air flowing in and out as efficiently as possible. More isn't always better, if the flow is turbulent and unpredictable... or if one end flows more than the other. Airflow is only as free as the smallest bottleneck allows. A crazy intake, fancy header, and wide exhaust will eventually be choked by the stock ports.

To really benefit, you need to take the entire engine into account, not just individual parts.

Ok so then what would u suggest deeve, because I already have a bisi header but have not insalled it, so my plan was to get a better intake system to. What should i upgrade?

I would suggest doing it. Since I personally have a Skunk2 IM and recently an upgraded 70mm TB with a 3" AEM CAI, the low end improved a bit, midrange jumped up moderately and the top end now sounds beastly when VTEC kicks in. Its a lot deeper of a sound, especially with the 70mm TB.

Driveability is decent too. I cheaped out and got a BLOX 70mm tuner series TB so it doesn't have an idle adjust screw so its kinda hard to get it to idle right where I want it, currently its a little high, like 1100rpm so if I turn the AC on it tends to raise RPMs up a bit and do the idle bounce, but I can fix that by just backing the screw out a bit. But I can't complain since it only cost me 50 bucks used from a local honda tuner.

Car feels way more powerful with this TB. I left the IM with the stock porting so its got about a 66mm opening so more gains can be had...probably going to port it to 70mm when I get upgraded camshafts.

But for now, the power increase feels great driving around town and on the highway. It feels like my 80-100mph time has decreased by a lot since adding this TB to my Skunk2 IM, the stock TB really holds it back since its only 62mm. So get the TB and IM at the same time for the greatest noticeable difference.
