ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Motor mount problem?

    Motor mount problem?

Hi all! I'm glad to be part of this community!

So here's my dilemma, I'm 17 and I just purchased my first car, which happened to be a 1990 Honda Accord. I'm really stoked! I'm just having a little problem with the engine when I put it into gear. Everyone that has looked at it says its the back motor mount. So, when I put it in gear or reverse the car vibrates a ton. This only happens when I put it in gear and it's idle in gear or reverse. Would it be the motor mount that is doing that? Oh, I forgot to mention the engine moves from the upward motion from the back. So we're convinced that it's the back one.

The engine I have it in it is a F22B.

    Thank you a bunch guys!

That sounds like a pretty safe bet. Especially if your car is an EX. They used a vacuum-assisted dampening mount and when it fails is much worse than not having it altogether. If that turns out to be the case then you can either replace the mount with one that can be purchased for relatively cheap on eBay or you can put a solid mount in it from a non-EX auto car.

Okay! We're planning to replace it today and hopefully be on the way. I'm hoping it's just that. Thank you.

I'm sorry but I have one more question.
Why would the shifting light keeping blinking? The gentleman we bought it from said it's just always on and he said had it checked out and found no problem. Would there be a specific reason?

By shift light do you mean the D4 indicator?

If so, then there's a connector up under the dashboard in the passenger footwell that's tucked behind the kick panel you'll need to jump with a wire or paper clip. That will cause the D4 light to blink with a particular pattern that corresponds to a code the same way the check engine light will. There's a thread in the beginner technical section at the top that you'll need to scan through to find all the codes.
