ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Help usdm f20a engine problem

Hi, I'm new here. not familiar with the rules and don't know any member yet, my name is Roland, I am having problem with my usdm f20a engine automatic transmission, if you step on the gas pedal the engine will run with minimum power (just like it was choke) until it shift to the next gear then the full power is there up to the last gear. this happens only when the engine is already hot. I already replaced the FITV, IAC, fuel filter, Ignition coil and TPS socket, I also clean the ERG and re-solder the master relay. My engine was recently top overhauled and sent to machine shop. Need your help guys..thanks.

The F20A is not a USDM engine. The US only got the F22A.

Your problem sounds like a failing oxygen sensor, only because I've experienced a similar problem. Replace the oxygen sensor with a Denso or NTK/NGK unit, and it should fix the problem.

Also, is your check engine light on?

Also, all you have to do is read the rules to be familiar with them. Nothing here is against the rules... but you'd be wise to read them so you don't break them unintentionally. I know you're not from the US, but your english is just fine (and I or any of the moderators would be more than happy to answer any questions you have about the rules.)

My check engine light on and give me code 12 (EGR) and I already fixed it, I also got one light on and it was exhaust pipe with smoke logo light on red (don't have idea about it) is this a serious problem? I will replace my oxygen sensor and thanks a lot for the help and commending my English. I will do your advise to read the rules.

Also, thank you for the knowledge that f20a is not usdm...god bless you and hope to hear more from you.

I'm really not sure what that exhaust pipe light is... if it's something we have in the US, it's not something I've seen. Perhaps it has to do with the o2 sensor...

Did you reset the ECU when you fixed the EGR? You can do that by cutting power to the ECU (just disconnect the battery, or pull the "radio/backup" fuse.) That should clear the code. If it doesn't, I'd try another ECU. If the new ECU still gives that code 12, then check the wiring from the ECU to the EGR.

The F20A, while not USDM, is VERY similar to the USDM F22A (especially if you have the SOHC F20A, not the DOHC version.) Most of the F22A knowledge on here should apply directly to your engine as well.

I forgot to reset the ECU when I fixed the EGR today. Anyway, thanks for reminding me. can't visualize to you the logo of other light on but it seem the picture of muffler (the unit before the end tip of the exhaust pipe at the back under the bumper) with smoke above, hope this give you idea. I am just concern on this issue perhaps it's related to the oxygen sensor.

My chassis read as Honda of america mfg., inc. E-CB6 engine F20a made in USA and there is a tag on the left corner above the dashboard saying Honda of america mfg., inc. and there is F20a engrave in my engine block. Don't know if my engine is SOHC or DOHC.

Good to know that your F22a apply directly to my engine this is sound great because I did a lot of research on F22a and applied it to my engine, it works fine.

By the way, I'm from the Philippines and working here in Saudi Arabia, I bought my ride from the US compound, the owner was american working at American Embassy.

Hope I can solve my car problem with your help....thanks again.
