ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Now to my problem. I drove the car home from where it was, which was about a 30 minute drive. No idiot lights came on, and the car seemed to drive ok, except the fan motor for the heater inside the car seemed "weak".

I got home, turned it off, and when I tried to crank it back up, the starter was very weak. This made me think there must be an issue with the charging system.

I got my volt meter and hooked it up to the cigarette lighter. Sure enough, the car is running off battery only. The battery light is not on. So, I turn the car to the on position to check and make sure all of the idiot lights work.

Both the battery light and the oil pressure light do not come on with the key in the on position. I also notice as this point, that the clock does not come on either.

I test the battery light to see if it works by grounding one of the wires on the green connector that goes to the alternator. The battery light comes on as it should. I turn the car on, and the light should go off according to the honda manual. It does not go off.

I would just replace the alternator, but I understand that on these cars, there are 4 or 5 systems that determine whether the alternator will come on or not. I checked all of the fuses first, including the #2 under the dash. They all appear to be fine.

Please help me to identify and solve this problem. Sorry for such a long post.

hey man, it sounds like the alternator but have u checked the 80 amp fuse unser ur hood. i mean check the simple things first there buddy. can also be burnt bulb/s in cluster. but check that 80 amp fuse and that 50 amp ignition fuse.
