I'm not a cheap scape but I was wondering which pistons to get and what compression would be good for a turbo setup.(8-13 psi) Something more on the cheap side, around 400-600 hundred not looking to make massive power.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

only good piston set up you are gonna find is bisimotos aris.might as well get the rods too with light duty pins..bore hone check clearnce and go.Originally posted by Hmong-cb7tuner View PostI'm not a cheap scape but I was wondering which pistons to get and what compression would be good for a turbo setup.(8-13 psi) Something more on the cheap side, around 400-600 hundred not looking to make massive power.

Any quality piston manufacturer can make a piston to your specifications. There's no need to go to Bisimoto, or Arias (who makes Bisimoto pistons.) Yes, Bisimoto CAN supply you with what you need, and they DO know the F22A... but a piston is a piston. Provide the specs, and any company worth a damn will be able to make it. In order to properly build an engine, you should know exactly what specs you need anyway.
My knowledge may be outdated compared to today's options, but low-silicon forged pistons with a fairly low compression ratio (under 10.0:1) will be your safest bet for a turbo motor, especially if you're looking for 400-600hp (I wouldn't call that "low power". More than 400whp will be pretty difficult to use as a daily driver... more than 600whp will be very difficult to control on public roads, and using all that power anywhere but a drag strip will be damn near impossible.)
However, low-silicon pistons are built to expand... therefore, they'll fit rather loosely in the sleeves (which will most likely need to be stronger aftermarket sleeves at that power level) When cold, the pistons will slap a bit... and this will eventually cause wear on the pistons and the sleeves themselves.
High silicon pistons will have tighter tolerances, but will be more likely to crack under high boost and heat. They're better suited to N/A applications.
You'll want to keep the compression ratio fairly low to prevent detonation. Advances in ignition systems, fueling systems, and ECU tuning systems have made it less important to run seriously low compression... but it's still smart to keep the compression ratio down a bit. Especially if you plan on doing a street tune, or a quick budget-limited dyno tune.
Again, technology may have progressed to make my knowledge outdated... but this is as I know it.

You're way too focused on brands in an area where it's not that important. If a company makes forged aftermarket pistons and has the capability of making said pistons to your specifications, it's a good brand.
If I were you I would rear up a lot more on engine building and figure out what you want to do. Between this and your last thread I don't believe you are capable of building an engine at this point. Like 98vtec said, it all comes doen to who builds it. Unless you're farming the work out I assume you plan to tackle the job. You've got a long way to go.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

I think he means 400-600 for cost in dollars for the pistons, not hp^^Originally posted by deevergote View PostAny quality piston manufacturer can make a piston to your specifications. For $459, I can provide you pistons that fit your factory rods, complete with pins, rings and locks.Originally posted by Hmong-cb7tuner View PostI'm not a cheap scape but I was wondering which pistons to get and what compression would be good for a turbo setup.(8-13 psi) Something more on the cheap side, around 400-600 hundred not looking to make massive power.
I also have a special for $759 for longer rods, and pistons, for that peace of mind.
In regard to all brands being the same, the forgings are typically from the same source. However, the difference is in the machining precision, and how the "cam" is cut on the skirts. In my experience, Arias is the best, and I have had impeccable success with them. I have seen variences as musch as 0.001" in pistons form other major manufacturers, and that is not acceptable. Kindly PM me for details, and I have tons of F22a pistons in stock. Happy new year.'Bisimoto D15/D16/F18/F22
