ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I had no idea of that gasket being sold at AutoZone, I am going to take back those Subaru gaskets I just bought and get those instead, they look like a perfect fit unlike the Subaru ones.

Wish I had known this earlier but its all good.

Btw does anyone know where to find multilayered gaskets like that for the rest of the exhaust system? The majority of all my gaskets are the crappy graphite type. The most important one is probably this one, this is found at the end of the downpipe going to the cat converter,

This is my first to learn about this type gasket. The last time I needed to replace eBay gasket, most of people were talking about Subaru gaskets.

This crash gasket is blessing for those mechanically challenged people like me. I may pick one up myself when my modded Subaru gasket leaks.

I just put in one of those subaru gaskets but noticed the downpipe bracket that bolts to the block had broken completely in two. So... does anyone know where to find one of those brackets? I looked but found none.

EDIT: I looked on the honda website and the diagram doesn't have it.

Edit again, sorry if this is OT, i'll post in my thread.

The general consensus is to not attach it when using an eBay header. Or at least attach it with a flexible mount.

Why is that, wouldn't that put too much strain on the headers? I am not talking about the bracket on the downpipe, that already broke off and I had it re-welded, so there's no way the bracket there is going to come off. What I am talking about is the bracket that is a separate piece. in this diagram its #12

That piece broke like it was nothing.

Uh.... It's #11 or #12 in the diagram. I know an A1 uses #11 and an A6 uses #12, can't say for sure on an A rare.

Depending on the header design, you MAY have to use the bracket. On my megan header I didn't, and no issues. With my header from DNA motoring I did, otherwise the header would sag and hit my crossmember.

I'm using the A1 (#12) bracket with A6 downpipe, that's probably why it broke in the first place. #11 is different from #12. Do you think I should get a #11 like the catalog says or would a #12 work? But I can't find the #12...

On my 4-2-1 header installation, I used that bracket (#11 or 12) after knocking off those studs on the bracket, turn 180 front to back and bolts and nuts in place of studs.

How did you even get it to fit? The 12 bracket is offset to the left by about an inch, inch and a half. You would REALLY have to muscle it over to get it to fit. Use the bracket that matches your down pipe. I just installed a DNA header onto dvswoo's A6, and we had to swap the bracket over to an A1 bracket.

Honda engineers thought it was needed to have the bracket there. You could find it at JY, no?
