ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    possible vacuum leak

tearing off my throttle body to change my TPS sensor removed the old gasket and sealant and placed a new one on with new sealant and now it idles worse and now boggles down when trying to move threw gears and stalls out coming down from higher speeds or reverse(60-0). Has never done this till i took off the throttle body and changed out the old and put in the new.

Did you install the TPS correctly AND calibrate it?

no the stock throttle boddy had the tps in there to where i couldnt take it off. looked like they were riveted. so i said screw it and just put it back on and thats when the problems started

Ah, I see. They are replaceable, you can cut slots on the rivet heads and back them out. You can check for a leak easy enough. Unhook the intake tube, cover the throttle body with your hand, and have a friend start the car. If it starts, vacuum leak. If not, it's something else.

is it possible that some of the RTV sealant may have gotten sucked into the intake? And stickn some where blocking sufficient air somewhere and if so how bad could that get?

Possible, but doubtful. Did you do as I instructed?

yes and it wouldnt start. so no vacum leak comming from the throttle body at least also sprayed carb cleaner around the bay to check to c if there were other possible leaks but none stayed at the same RPMs. Funny though the rpms actaully dropped like it wanted to shut off after sprayn a lil into the throttle body thought they were supposed to raise in rpms?

You are introducing a foreign substance into the combustion chambers, one that the ECU isn't expecting, so the AFR gets thrown off.

got it. but wat could be causing it to bogg down when moving from 1st to second( the worst part) and then the other gears it acts like it strains to get up to speed. Im rather baffled by it cause it all started when i took off the throttle body and sealed it back up. I checked the TPS on it and it was fine. Unplugged it and it shut off on me plug it in and everything is fine idling until you tap the throttle. i noticed just a lil bit of throttle it tends to bogg down but WOT it revs up fine. This is very stressful

Did you clean the throttle plate and the spring on the throttle? How tight is the throttle cable?

There should be 10mm of play (up and down). Is there a screw on the bottom of the throttle body, should be touching the bottom of the rotor?

Only thing I can think of is you got some RTV in a port where the throttle body mates with the plenum. Did you replace it with another F22 throttle body?

ill get another gasket and clean it up again see if i actually missed something when i cleaned it last . See if that does the trick. iv been researching all over google with the same possible solutions and talked to a bunch of my mechanic friends and it all draws back to the source of when it all started (the throttle body) so i guess its time for a new intake manifold if doesnt work out
