ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Window Motor Does Not Operate, There is Power

My apologies in advance for my first post....

Car: 1993 Accord 10th Anniversary 4DR with Power Windows

    Problem:
The front power passenger power window does not roll up or down as the window motor does not operate. At first I thought it was just the binding of the regulator/tracks but when I removed the motor I confirmed it did not work. So I bought a new motor and replaced it but the new motor did not work as well. I then tested both motors with direct power only to find out both motors worked just fine. Must be the switch, right?

I tested the connection from the switch to the motor and there is power but the motor will not operate. I can confirm there is power when the front passenger or the driver's master switch is activated. I also made sure the window lock is not activated.

Have I missed any troubleshooting steps? Any suggestions?

I read this and I think I might have missed something. Did you mention anything about replacing the regulator too? Most of the ones I have replaced came with the motor..not separated. You did mention you checked for binding, but I just wonder if your test was on ground or in door? On the regulator the wires are guided by tabs, those tabs break and the scissor motion is not working . Check them. Also check for clogged up window channels (spray with silicone spray) and last the electrical. I have never had it be electrical. Almost 100% of my problems were because of that metal wire tabs breaking. Best approach is to replace it with a new or a used regulator AND motor. The used one you should have hooked up in/out of window and seen in action. The replacement one can be tested out of door ,but take it slow and be very careful not to pull on the panel. Set it in door and check it again before you tighten it. Make sure it is perfect before you tighten all the gold bolts.

do you hear the motor running when you flip the switch? i mean, if it's the regulator's fault, wouldn't the motor still spin?
