ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Bad starter ??

    Bad starter ??

Alright so I've been having trouble with my accord starting. The battery is good and all the connections are good. People on here said to check all the fuses. And those are good. But I was messing with it this morning. I pulled a little wire with a tab off the starter ( not the connection from starter to battery ) and I plugged it back in. The wire is pretty much directly behind the battery to starter connection. Then it started. Then I drove it to get gas, work, then back home. Then I tried to start it. But nothing happened. When I put the key in ignition before turning the key,it makes the beeping noise but as soon as I turn it to start the car the light in the door goes out and the beeping noise stops. When I take the key out, the door light comes on but it is extremely dim. I unplug the starter tab then put it back. And it does the same thing.

Does that mean bad starter. ??

Sounds like a bad ground or loose connections at the battery terminal. You can in most cases hit the starter with a hammer and it will start if that's the issue.

Sounds like the wire that you are removing and re installing is connecting to the solenoid. Could be a bad starter, but has the battery been checked lately? There might be a bad solenoid on the starter causing some of the issue, but I am not so sure that it is causing all of it. Seems to be a lot to be caused by just the one issue, but it could be possible.

You can have the starter tested to see how much draw it pulls when starting. That would give you more information. If you have a multi-meter, you can also do a quick test when connected to the battery and test voltage at rest and when trying to start.

Have the battery load tested at AZ or someplace else for free if you don't have a load tester.
