ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Are auto and 5 speed motor harnesses interchangeable?

I am in the middle of attempting a 5 speed swap on my car. I bought a full motor and 5 speed tranny off of craigslist, changed the clutch and everything, but the motor had the old harness on it so i figured id just leave it alone and plug that up to the harness in my car but the connectors dont seem to fit and it looked like i had an extra one or something. so will the harnesses work together or witll i still have to sewap them out?

really depends on whats doesnt fit....remember the auto harness will have an unused plug for the transmission control module..

You're really not providing any useful information. '90-'91 harnesses are different from '92-'93 harnesses in how it plugs into the distributor. Also, a harness that comes with an F22A6 will have a connector for the black box under the intake manifold to control IAB functionality. Be more descriptive first about what you have and what you're trying to install.

At least in a 93, the shock tower plugs are different. The auto has larger plugs on the shock towers. If I recall correctly, when I did my swap, I had to use the auto harness because the manual plugs wouldn't fit.

from what everyone tells me to do the 5 speed swap is that you have to take the engine, motor bay,and the dash harnesses and put them on your car to do it right otherwise you will have problems from what i was told.cuz i was wanting to swap mine and was told this so my boyfriend didn't want to wire tuck the bay again nor take the motor back out or dash so im stuck with an auto.

I am running a auto harness on my 5spd. And before I did my tuck I had a 5spd harness on mycar which started as a auto car so youcan use a 5spd harness in a auto car. but a 90-91 harness is is different than a 92-93

somebody lied all you have to rally do with wiring to get the car move is the wires for the park switch so you can turn key.
