ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

parking brake cable brackets won't fit

the title pretty much sums it up. i got the cables fed through and when i went to put up the brackets on the new cables to mount, the screws are too big to fit through them!

i would reuse the old ones off the original cables, but i am weary as they are very rusty.

anybody have this issue? how did you solve it? really would not like to have to send the cables back and have my car sitting for another week. i was thinking of trying to get to the hardware store today to see if they can help me, but it's a ways away- and i'm walking. so figured i'd ask here first to save myself the time. the auto parts store didn't have anything that would help.

    thanks in advance!

i'm just changing out the old (and original) parking brake cables for new ones. the brackets on the new ones are too small for the screws to fit. i would use the old ones, but they are rather rusty.

i have a wagon with disc brakes.

        Hey !

Maybe a picture would help... i'm sure there is a way to make it fit.

And i'm pretty sure you can drive your car w/o parking brake. Even with a manual trans...

sorry to update this so late, but i got very sick. anyways, the only way i got them to fit was by having someone drill larger holes in the brackets of the new cables. they're on now just fine, but i would like to pass word along that if you buy the dorman parking brake cables for an ex wagon with rear disc brakes, you may run into this issue.
