ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    coolant leak

ok so tonight i got home and parked the car and an hour later i saw coolant on the ground and its not a pool tho it was just like enough top notice it run under the car. it was on the passenger side i saw it leaked on the lower control arm so i looked under the hood and i didnt see anything wet but its night so its not very visible. but the heater barely works i think the valve is done but the car will get hot while driving the cool right down (it DOESNT overheat) when i start moving or turn on the heater for a few minutes it will just run hot for a short period of time. im really confused on what it could be im not a newbe at cars but this is really bothering me. i know this is very vague but is there any known issues with a 93 ex f22a6??????

What I always do to find collant leaks is top off the rad. Drive it for a bit then park it. Shut it off and pop the hood and listen for hissing.

There is also a lazyer way. Sometimes if I cant find the leak I will just let it get worse until it shows its self

As for the heater your valve could be broke or the core could be clogged.

I would recommend a good flush.

Could be the thermostat sticking and maybe some blow off from the radiator cap?

I agree with the blow off

If the thermo was stuck closed the engine would over heat like a mofo.

If it was stuck open then it would never heat up in the first place.

I suppose the thermo is a good place to start though

From the description of the location and symptoms I recomend feeling the heater hose up. It runs from under the distributor to the firewall. It usually burst near the firewall in the cold season. It can be replaced with generic rubber hose of according size at your local parts store. (Bring it with you). Or from the dealer.

Get the correct heater hoses from Honda along with the water valve. They are cheap enough and will fit correctly. I lost an engine due to a heater hose blowing out.

gentleman thank you for all the tips. i topped it off that night ran it for like ten mins and check under the hood. nothing hissing, no leaks but i looked under the car and there was some more coolant. i had a civic with a leak it was the heater hose, but i let the hose go because the leak wasn't showing. i drove the car to work and no running hot at all no water spot on the ground even after i drove it back home no leaking at all but im going to change the the heater hose and valve because my ac lines are cold but i blows hot till i mess with the switch then it goes kinda cold but im still confused on why my heater doesnt work. also i now know why it it smells mustty in there. my tail light gaskets are basically mud now and the whole truck got wet and smells like a fish market oh well time to clean later this weekend.
