ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    f22b1 block/a6 head help

Hey guys/gals, so i have been doing this build for a little while and have been reading every forum i could on this build. i got into an accident with mine and kinda put this to the side. im starting to pick it up again and went to a winter meet the other day and got into an argument with some preluders saying i needed to block VTEC ports and switch pins for the ecu. i got my ecu answer. i didnt understand what they were talking about when "blocking VTEC ports" came up. i was looking for some insight and how to. any information is appreciated. it is a boost build.

Compare the head gaskets for the two engines. Any ports in the block that don't match up on the head have to be blocked off. To my knowledge, the two blocks are very similar.

I don't know why anyone would say you'd need to do anything custom with the ECU. As far as the ECU is concerned, this is an F22A6. The block has the same bore, stroke, and compression ratio.

My question is, why bother? Why not just use an F22A block? That would eliminate any potential issues.
Also, I do hope some forged internals are going in there.

yes wiseco makes a stock bore and compression kit they are forged with H beams. I am using the b1 block cause i picked it up off a buddy who said this swap had gains and since i was driving my CB i was just gonna build and swap. i didnt think the blocks differed that much but oh well. How would i go about blocking off the VTEC ports in the block also?
