ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If it is OEM, then you're good to go. Different parts have different brand preferences. For timing belts and other ancillaries, I will always choose OEM or Gates if available. In a lot of cases, OEM usually = Gates. Buy the stuff in your link with confidence.

IMHO Continental makes a good kit for CB7's as well as GMB and both are far less costly then $195

I'd avoid random kits. Buy your parts directly from Honda. It may cost more, but that's not something you want to screw around with.

I still laugh at those who need " Honda " only parts lots of aftermarket made stuff is as good if not better then OEM parts . I have used Continental before and it was a high quality kit for less then the $195 the OP was looking at. I would be worried about buying some cheap tires and worried about buying cheap suspension parts that are not at O.E. spec in terms of quality or fitment. But timing belts are just belts and decent rubber that isn't old is just gonna work fine if installed right IMHO.

But when an OEM is only a few bucks more, is it worth the chance?

The last thing I'd take a chance with would be a timing belt. Not knocking Continental in particular, we just don't get that part here so I know nothing about it. But for someone who doesn't know much about building engines, I'd ask them to stick with OEM parts in most cases.

I bought and used it as well as had a Volvo technician say he thought belt and kit period was high quality and easy to install. If that isn't saying something I don't know what else does. Honda builds cars not parts......
