ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Prelude 92-96 suspension.

    Hi people,
Can anyone tell me if 92-96 Prelude Koni Yellow struts will work on my CB3?

Id rather have a CB specific set offcourse but I can get brand new Koni Yellows for about 25% of the normal price. That makes me consider.

on the pictures they look alike alot.

    greetings
    Vladi

    Prelude

    Doesnt look like it.

However you can use Accord 90-97 suspension parts.

No, they will not work. They are different part numbers. (the Prelude parts, that is... I started typing before Erik replied.)

I can't remember which end it is, but either the front or the rear will bolt up... but the valving will be different.

Since your safety depends on your suspension being correct for your car, it would be worth paying the extra money for the proper parts!

Koni is based in the Netherlands... you should be able to get them cheap!

Theyre lots of sets available here (NOS) but I couldnt find a Accord set, I did find the Prelude set for about 140$.
So that's worth asking I think.

Is weight on front and rear so different on Preludes vs Accords?
I was thinking the weight wouldnt be too much off ( so still a good drive ).

The weights are similar, but the weight distribution is different. The Prelude's suspension geometry is also different. I'm no expert, but I can only assume that the people that designed the parts (who ARE experts) made two different parts for a reason.

$140 USD? That's what we pay for ONE Koni shock around here!
You could probably buy that, sell it to someone in the US for a good price, and still make a profit after shipping!

As Erik said, the parts are the same for 90-97 Accords. Have you expanded your search to include the 5th generation? That is assuming the 5th generation Accords you got there were the same as the ones we got in the US. CD chassis.
I know there were some models available in other markets that we never got here, and I don't know for sure if those shocks would fit those models.

Yeah might pick them up for a bit of cash to add to my own coilovers.

I havent looked into CD chassis yet. Should be a good deal available somewhere

            Thanks for the quick answers!
