ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Cb7 Motor Mount

Hello I have a 1990 HONDA ACCORD LX automatic with the vacuum controlled motor mount. The problem I have is the engine vibrates at idle 750 since I bought the car what I'm thinking is there's ether no more dampening fluid in the mount or something is wrong with the vacuum to it. If there is no fluid in the mount can it be refilled? I've heard of it being possible to refill it before but not on the EX's or is there any way I can test to see if it's working properly at idle? Also my car shakes horribly in reverse somewhat in drive not nearly as bad as reverse though. What motor mount has the most stress put on it in reverse?

I don't know anything about refilling the mount, to me that's just another unnecessary added cost. I think you can check the rear mount at idle by having the hood open, start the engine, with your foot on the brake the whole time, put the transmission in "R", then "D", maybe back and forth(but let engage in each gear), and watch the engine through the gap between the hood and the wipers. If the back of engine(closest to the firewall) is jumping up, usually when the car is put "R"(especially from "D" to"R"), the rear mount should be the culprit. I hope that answers all your questions... By the way, diagnosing it is much easier with an assistant. If you do replace the rear mount and want to keep vacuum dampening mount thingy, buy from Honda. All the other replacement automatic rear mounts suck, they are just not made from the same quality materials as a Japanese made Honda OEM part. But if your budget is tight, pick up the cheapest one and put polyurethane around it! Just like the people who posted in these threads (you'll also have to cap or eliminate the vacuum line too):

Have you checked the other mounts to see if they were torn? The rubber in my dog bone (front) was torn in two pieces and completely fell out of the the mount when I replaced it and others weren't far off. If there wasn't any fluid I would assume that would indicate a leak you could look for. The rear one is the more difficult one to replace so that's why I recommended looking at the others first if you haven't already.
