ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Odd error code problem

Hello everyone. I've be lurking around this forum for quite awhile, and have found the answer to all my questions up until now. This one has me stumped.
The car is a 92 CB7 LX. This is my second CB7, so it's not my first experience.
This car was running great until just the other day. I did the base idle set procedure I read on here on both my CB's. I followed the procedure exactly, and my daily likes the adjustment just fine. The car in question however does not. Every since I did the adjustment the idle seems great, but I've had a CEL immediately on startup. So I jumped my service connector. The CEL doesn't flash...but the D4 does. This is especially strange since I thought it was burned out since it's never worked. It doesn't flash a code though, it just flashes nonstop.
I've already been through the TCU mess on my other car, so I pulled this TCU too, thinking maybe that was the culprit, but no, it's fine.
I've read that a bad ECU will throw a non-flashing CEL, but I don't really understand how it would just suddenly decide to crap out on me. The car mainly just sits...

Swap ECUs? Parts break at random times, for random reasons.

Yeah, that's a thought. I might just go pick one up from the pick-n-pull yard. Now that my daily seems content, I don't want to tempt faith by messing with it. lol
I know random parts break at random times, I'm just kinda suspicious of the timing in the case though.
The car has an electrical gremlin or two that I already know about. The wiper is a good example: it will run with the switch off as long as the key is in the on position. Turn the car on and it works as it should. Leave it on accessory and it will run until the battery dies.

Figured the problem out. I cleaned the connectors and pins on the ECU, plugged it back up and it's good to go.
